The latest issue of the Journal of Participatory Medicine contains an interesting study that shows some of the biggest obstacles standing in the way of a common understanding and shared decision making between doctor and patient. The authors compile a list of 18 questions and sent a survey to about 275 doctors in the Canadian province of Manitoba, and they asked each member to find out how serious it placed a barrier standing.
