Last Friday the flood gates were slightly turned opened for fans of Final Fantasy XIV. Players hold their breath to see how this game is modeling together up under the veil of secrecy that SquareEnix that gate came tons of interesting images and information! How could these limited info satisfy our curiosity? After seeing released classes and amazing environment, my blood boils buning with a voice: I want know MORE!
Thanks to ffxivcore.com , today they will uncover secrets hide in the revealed FF XIV information for us!
In the past Final Fantasy XI was limited by slower internet connections, and slower computers. Another hindrance was also the fact that Final Fantasy XI was released on the PS2, but this time around XIV wont have that problem; shedding those barriers we start to see glimpses of the customization.
A fine example comes from the first images we see below of the races compared to the new ones:
Putting the rendering aside (Left image of the Lalafell appears to be a in-game model while the right is a CGI for those pondering) you can see clear and distict differences between the eyes, and skin tone which suggest what SquareEnix has already announced to us; The developers (SquareEnix) also allowed a small Q&A with Dengeki PlayStation and in the interview they noted: "face model, hairstyle, skin color, and eye color are just a few of the characteristics the player will be able to customize." Players of Final Fantasy XI will remember that hairstyle and face model were tied together so it鈥檚 good news to us to hear that the system will be more lenient.
Another item to note is that the armor shown in the images below all has different colors in their breastplate section:
A possible hint that players will be allowed color dyes for armor?
Looking even closer at the armor it becomes apparent that some characters have visible necklaces which I think is another hint at how our neck armor will be visible in the game. (Who knows maybe even have a toggle option in the settings to allow visibility similar to helms and cloaks in some games.) Look closely at their necks:
Alongside this you can see different "crests" on the armor in the image shown below. Who knows? These crests might belong to our three nations.
