The basic story behind the game is that there was one goddess long ago and she was split into two sides.
The first thing you notice when you log into Shaiya Online Gold is that you will have chosen between two factions. You can pick either the country of light or the country of the fury. The country of the light has the Human race and the Elf race and the fury side has their Vail en the Nordain races. The Nordain race is also known as the Death eaters.
