Pokemon Go: Legendary Monsters Coming Soon
Legendary Pokemon will finally be catchable in Pokemon Go this year, according to developer Niantic. In an interview with Wired Germany, the company's CEO, John Hanke, answered a question about when we'll see legendaries by teasing, "I can safely say we'll see more of it this year." Legendary creatures in generations one and two--the generations already seen in Pokemon Go--include Mew, Mewtwo, Ho-Oh, Lugia, and more.
One legendary bird, Articuno, was spotted in some players' rosters last year, but it was later revoked by Niantic.
"We recently noticed that a few Legendary Pokemon got into a few accounts when they shouldn't have," the developer said at the time. "To preserve the game's integrity and as a measure of fairness, we have rectified the situation and revoked the legendary Pokemon from the Trainers' accounts."
Niantic has continued to support Pokemon Go since its launch in July last year. It brought creatures from Pokemon Gold and Silver to the mobile game in February, while trading will arrive at some point this year and PvP battles are also in the works.
In other Pokemon news, both Pokemon Go and Pokemon Sun and Moon are up for Best Mobile Game at this year's game BAFTAs. Check out the full list of nominees here.
